Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is a Bed-Fee Scholarship?
A Bed-Fee Scholarship helps individuals in early recovery afford sober housing during a critical period of rebuilding stability. Each scholarship provides $550 per month for up to three months, offering short-term financial support while residents focus on recovery, employment, and community connection.
When does my scholarship start?
If your application is approved, your scholarship will begin on the date of your application. For example, if you apply on October 12 and are awarded a scholarship, your funding period will begin October 12 and continue for three months, provided you remain at the approved sober home.
Can I transfer my scholarship to another sober home?
No. Bed-Fee Scholarships are not transferable between sober homes. Funding is approved specifically for the sober home listed on your application. If you move to another residence, your current scholarship will end.
How often can I receive a scholarship?
Individuals may receive one Bed-Fee Scholarship per calendar year. This ensures that funding is available to support as many people in recovery as possible across the community.
How are scholarship funds paid?
Scholarship payments are made directly to the sober home at the end of each month for the duration of the award. We rely on sober homes to confirm continued residency and communicate any changes promptly.
