Keep Coming Home Mission
The recovery slogan "keep coming back" embodies the essential principle of persistence in the journey toward sobriety and healing. However, this ongoing commitment to recovery is realistically attainable only when individuals have the stability and safety of a home to return to—when they can truly "Keep Coming Home."
Safe, Stable, and Supportive sober housing is not a luxury but a necessity to sustain recovery and break the cycle of addiction and homelessness. Without it, maintaining long-term sobriety is an uphill battle that too many are simply unable to win.
Recent legislation in Minnesota has unfortunately eliminated the primary funding source for more than 75% of sober homes throughout the Twin Cities area, creating a critical and urgent crisis in access to stable recovery housing for those who need it most. Keep Coming Home was established specifically to respond to this pressing need with compassion and commitment. As a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Keep Coming Home is dedicated to easing the financial burden of sober home bed fees for individuals in the early stages of recovery from addiction. With a special focus on serving the BIPOC community and parents who are living with their children in the Twin Cities, the organization provides essential support to ensure stable, safe, and nurturing housing during this pivotal period of healing. By addressing these significant housing costs, Keep Coming Home helps to remove critical barriers to sustained sobriety, fosters the preservation of family unity, and promotes long-term healing in communities that have been disproportionately impacted by addiction.
Keep Coming Home is actively pursuing a variety of grant opportunities to expand and enhance its support services for individuals on the challenging journey to recovery. These crucial grants provide essential funding that sustains programs, housing options, and vital resources that collectively make lasting sobriety achievable. Beyond grant funding, Keep Coming Home depends heavily on generous contributions from individuals whose lives have been deeply transformed by the supportive sober homes in the Twin Cities. The kindness, generosity, and ongoing commitment of these community members empower the organization to continue fulfilling its important mission of offering hope, stability, and a safe, nurturing environment for those dedicated to building a healthier, more fulfilling future.
